Partner Spotlight:SeniorAge

At On the Go, we are proud to highlight the incredible work our partners do in their communities. This month, we’re showcasing SeniorAge, an Area Agency on Aging serving southwest Missouri.

About SeniorAge

SeniorAge has been a cornerstone for seniors 60+ in Missouri, providing essential services like nutritional support and health programs that help empower older adults to live independently. One of their most critical contributions is providing transportation to seniors in both urban and rural areas — ensuring access to medical appointments, groceries, social activities, and other vital services that promote well-being and reduce isolation.

Transportation Impact in Missouri

Through their transportation program, SeniorAge helps older adults, especially those living in rural communities or with fixed incomes, access cost-free, reliable transportation. Since 2021, SeniorAge and On the Go have coordinated more than 40,000 rides, covering over 167,000 miles across the state. Together, we’re ensuring that all seniors in Missouri can maintain healthy and active lifestyles.

“Many of the older adults we serve rely on these rides because they cannot afford all the costs associated with having a car on their fixed income or because of medical conditions that make it dangerous to drive themselves. I speak with clients every day that tell me how much they love the program, how easy it is to use, and that they do not know what they would do without it.” – Bailey Hughes, SeniorAge, Senior Transportation Lead

Strengthening Communities Through Partnership

SeniorAge's work in Missouri goes beyond transportation. Through our partnership, we are fostering stronger, more connected communities. With a focus on culturally competent and rider-centered service, seniors in Missouri can count on reliable transportation that empowers them to stay active and engaged in their community.

“As much as it helps seniors get around in our community, it is also helping to keep them independent and decreasing their social isolation! I am so honored to get to work with On The Go to provide this necessary service to the older adults that we serve." – Bailey Hughes, SeniorAge, Senior Transportation Lead

We are incredibly proud of the difference SeniorAge is making in southwest Missouri and are excited to continue supporting their mission of enhancing the lives of seniors.
