How to Cancel or Change a Delivery with Lyft
How Cancelling or Changing a Delivery with Lyft Works: In order to cancel or make changes to a delivery route that has been sent to Lyft, you must first cancel the route in Lyft. If a Lyft driver is aleady progressing through the route you will not be able to cancel it. You can call the driver using the driver contact information visible in the Dispatch Note field on the Dispatch screen.
Before you can cancel/change a delivery in Lyft you will need to know which route the delivery is on. You can find route information on the Dispatch screen, the delivery's Scheduling page, or on the Viewer screeen.
Steps:
- When you know the route for the delivery you need to cancel, navigate to the Operations tab and click on the Optimzation icon.
- Click on the Lyft Meals button.
- Select âCancel a Delivery Path with Lyftâ and check the box next to the route youâd like to cancel.
- Click âSend to Lyftâ.
- A pop-up message will appear indicating the path(s) was successfully cancelled. The pop-up also indicates the route was âsuccessfully sent to Lyftâ this is letting you know which route you have cancelled. If the top of the pop-up says âDelivery Paths Successfully Cancelled in Lyftâ the route has been cancelled.
- Go to the Operations tab and click on the Dispatch icon.
- Youâll see the status of your deliveries on the route you cancelled in Lyft will be in a Pending status. Change the status of the delivery(ies) you want to cancel to Cancelled using the dropdown menu in the status field.
- Click the orange Refresh button and the status will update to Cancelled.
- If there were deliveries on the route that do not need to be cancelled, you will need to resend the route to Lyft. You do not need to re-optimize the route.
- Double-click on the delivery address to be directed to the Scheduling screen for the delivery. On the Scheduling screen you can make any changes needed for the delivery.
- Double-clicking on the PU (pickup) Time in the Dispatch screen, allows you to change the time for the delivery. *Military Time. If you are changing the time of a delivery you will want to change the PU times for all deliveries on the route, or remove the delivery from the route.
- To remove a delivery from a route, double-click on the route in the Dispatch screeen (you can also remove a delivery from a route on the Scheduling screen).
- Use the drop down menu in the Change Route box to select the blank space. This will take the delivery off of the route.
- Click Update Assignment.
- Click Ok.
After you cancel a route in Lyft, you will also need to cancel or make changes to the deliveries on the route in the On the Go software. This can be done in several screens (Scheduling, Viewer and Dispatch). The next steps will show how to cancel a delivery in the On the Go software from the Dispatch screen.
You can also make address, time and route changes to the deliveries on the route that was cancelled in Lyft from the Dispatch screen.
