How to Use the Driver Mobile App
The On the Go driver mobile app gives staff and volunteer drivers an optimized route, complete schedule, delivery detail, driver notes and navigation in one place.
Steps:
- Download the On the Go driver mobile app to your smartphone.
- The app is available for both Android and IOS devices.
- Search RoutingBox Mobile in the App Store or Google Play.
- Download the app onto your smartphone.
- Open the RoutingBox mobile app on your smartphone.
- Enter your On the Go Company Code.
- Search your name in the driver list and click on it.
- Login with the last four digits of your driver's license, or the PIN provided to you.
- The app will ask your permission to use your location. Select âAllow While Using Appâ or "Always".
- To ensure the app runs smoothly, make sure in your phone settings the RoutingBox app is set to "Always" for the Location.
- Upon logging in, the driver will see their deliveries for the day on the Trips page. The deliveries will display in PU (pick up) and DO (drop off) lists.
- Select the menu link on the top-left corner of the screen to view: organization checklist (if using), deliveries assigned to the driver today and/or tomorrow, deliveries that have been unassigned, to set auto refresh and alert tone, and to log out of the app.
- To begin a delivery route navigate to the Trips page (select Today under My Trips on the Menu page).
- All deliveries on the route will display in the PU list. The optimized drop off list (DO) displays after the PU list.
- The driver can click on any delivery to view delivery detail.
- Check the pick-up time of the deliveries on the PU list and proceed to the pick-up location.
- For turn-by-turn directions to the pick-up location, click on the map icon next to the pick-up time in any of the PU list delivery details.
- When the driver arrives at the pick-up location, they will collect the delivery item for each recipient and update the âPendingâ delivery status to âArrived at Drop Offâ on the DO List. Nothing needs to be clicked on the PU list.
- Click on each DO delivery to open the delivery detail.
- Note the delivery item for the client.
- Upon receipt of the delivery item, press the arrow key next to âPendingâ to update the status to âArrived at Dropoffâ.
- Click on the âbackâ link to return to the DO list and change the status of the next delivery on the route
- Repeat for each delivery on the DO list.
- When all of the delivery items have been received and each delivery status has been updated to âArrived at Dropoffâ the PU list will disappear and the DO list will display in an optimized order.
- Proceed to the first drop off in the DO list.
- For turn-by-turn directions to the drop-off location, click on the orange map icon next to the drop off time in the DO list delivery detail.
- Turn-by-turn directions will populate in Google Maps. The directions work best when the Google Maps app is downloaded to the smartphone.
- To return to the mobile app, click on the RoutinBox link at the top left of the Google Maps screen.
- To call a delivery recipient press the orange phone icon. You will be given the option to call the Client or the Pickup location
- When arriving at the drop off location and the delivery item has been given to the client, update the delivery status to âCompletedâ.
- When a delivery has been Completed it will show as green and then will disappear off the Trips list.
- If the Dispatch team adds a delivery to your day, it will show as red for a period of time to let you know a new delivery was added to your Trips page.
- If a recipient is not home or refuses the delivery the driver can update the delivery status to âNo Showâ.
- Click on the status bar and change the status in the DO list to âPendingâ. Click back to the Trips page.
- The PU delivery detail for that delivery will display on the PU list. Click on the delivery.
- In the PU detail change the status to âNo Showâ.
- Click on the âbackâ key to return to the DO list to proceed to the next delivery on the route.
- When you have completed your deliveries, you will be directed to a post-route checklist, if your organization is requiring it.
- Log out of the app on the Menu page.
